My name is Ed Russell, and I’m a Creative Director living in Oklahoma City. Originally from Oxford, England, I moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma in 1994 with my mom, brother, and stepdad, who was a member of the United States Air Force. I may have lost my accent, but I still make a mean cuppa tea.
I’m one of those people who always has a project going on, whether it’s designing a logo, renovating some aspect of our house or fixing up an old hot rod in the garage. An auto shop class in high school spurred a lifelong passion for classic cars; 15+ years later, I’ve worked on everything from a 1955 Cadillac Series 62 to a 1964 Ford Falcon to my current pet project, a 1927 Ford Model T.
To me, creative problem solving is a lot like working on cars — I break a problem down to its base components, and after careful inspection, I reassemble them in an improved way. Pretty simple when you think about it.
I’m also obviously into tattoos, and I tend to get a new one whenever my wife and I travel. At home, if I’m not in the garage, then I’m probably playing with our toddler, Oli.
